I-heart revolution

http://www.i-heart.org/

What a great time we had last night.  ”We’re all in this Together” was a fantastic challenge to each of us to take responsibility to reach into our world and so something…..to touch another life with the message of hope and value that God places upon humanity.  Bringing justice to a world where injustice is evidenced.

Here’s a couple of stats to think about:

  • Every year 10 million children under the age of 5 die of hunger and malnutrition.  More than the entire country of Sweden.
  • There are 250,000 children serving as child soldiers.
  • Every year, 2 million children die because they don’t have access to good water or sanitation.  More than the population of New Mexico.
  • The current slum dweller population is 1 billion.  This represents a third of the world’s population.  There are 11 million homeless children in India alone.
  • Right now, 1 in 6 children in the world are engaged in child labour.
  • Every day, 26,000 children die because they are sick suffering mainly from preventable disease.  That’s the equivalent of 62 jumbo jets crashing.
  • Right now, 101 million children of primary school age are out of school.
  • 4 children die every 30 seconds of hunger.

Joel Houston expressed the one thing we have in common with our world is that we are all living in the same moment.  It’s what we do with the moment and how we respond to the moment that counts.

The story of Jesus is the greatest story of injustice but yet, the greatest act of love.

“The church exists for those outside of it.” William Tyndale

Something to Think About!

1. If you are right handed, you will tend to chew your food on your right side. If you are left handed, you will tend to chew your food on your left side.

2. If you stop getting thirsty, you need to drink more water. For when a human body is dehydrated, its thirst mechanism shuts off.

3. Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying.

4. Your tongue is germ free only if it is pink. If it is white there is a thin film of bacteria on it.

5. The Mercedes-Benz motto is “Das Beste oder Nichts” meaning “the best or nothing”.

6. The Titanic was the first ship to use the SOS signal.

7. The pupil of the eye expands as much as 45 percent when a person looks at something pleasing.

8. The average person who stops smoking requires one hour less sleep a night.

9. Laughing lowers levels of stress hormones and strengthens the immune system. Six-year-olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day.

10. The roar that we hear when we place a seashell next to our ear is not the ocean, but rather the sound of blood surging through the veins in the ear.

So, if you thought the name change to Relate Church was confusing…be glad we aren’t dealing with the following church name.

What’s Weird In Wales?

In Wales, there is a village called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (58 letters), which in English means “Saint Mary’s Church in the hollow of white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of Saint Tysilio near the red cave.” The locals call it Llanfairpwll. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.com is the longest single word .com domain name in the world.

Ethiopia Update

Just received this from Pastor Madeleine with huge thanks for praying!

“The team conducted two services in the stadium successfully today.  About 30,000.  Many miracles.  Many people given hope.  The team has huge police escorting them.  They are all safe and hearts on fire for Jesus.  The local church sees it as a historical breakthrough!  Thank you for all your prayer and support.”

How exciting!  What a fantastic report.

Pray for Pastor Anthony & Team

We received a text from Pastor Anthony Greco yesterday morning in regards to an uprising where they are doing some ministry work in Woliso, Ethiopia. Despite the opposition, they are proceeding with the rally’s tomorrow.  Please see the letter below that Pastor Madeleine has sent to their church congregation this morning.

Greetings,

I received a message from Pastor Anthony this morning from Ethiopia. They finished the pastor’s conference successfully earlier today. Approximately 1,500 pastors and leaders were strengthened and blessed through the teaching and training seminars this week.

Today was the first day of the planned open-air Jesus Festival. There were approximately 50,000 people streaming onto the campaign grounds.
As the first meeting was about to start a mob hired of the Orthodox church attacked.  Thousands attacked the platform and the crowds.

Police were able to push the attackers back.  The gospel meeting had to be cancelled.
WE BELIEVE EVERYBODY DESERVES TO HEAR THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT JESUS!
Please pray that the plans for the open-air Jesus Festival will go as planned for tomorrow and Sunday.
Pray that the Kingdom of God will increase and the kingdom of darkness will be made to nothing as the message of Jesus WILL be proclaimed in Woliso with signs following.

The team is safe and of good courage back at their hotel. They have police security around the clock.

This is real spiritual battle people! Please stand with us in prayer and faith.
Pray for protection and favor with the political leaders of this area. Anthony is meeting with the authorities right now.
Pray that despite this opposition JESUS NAME WILL BECOME KNOWN IN WOLISO, ETHIOPIA.

For the King and His Kingdom,

Madeleine Greco

We got the beef….B-east boys pull their weight to first place!

Gotta love it!  The boys pulled together…literally and won the tug of war competition at the MVP Conference this weekend. Well done Mike, John, Darrin, Sean, Chris and anchorman, Corey for putting the East Campus on top.  As you can tell from the pics the guys were well supported by the East men.  Seriously, fantastic teamwork all around.  I particularly liked the pic of Dan…reigning bbq King…firing up the guys with encouragement.

Wheres the beef?

bodaciousHey East guys…the mens Conference is coming up this weekend and it is sure to be a great time. Expect great teaching for guys (nothing for your ‘feminine side’…cause you don’t have one!) Expect to beef-up with great food and plenty of it. Expect great times cause you’re with guys and that doesn’t happen too often.

Speaking of beef…I signed up the East Campus to enter the ‘Tug of War’ Challenge… so do what you can to bulk-up. Perhaps we can call ourselves the ‘B-East Boys’?

Looking really forward to the men’s conference and seeing you there.

Victor
